  BlackBerry Peach Prize Poems  BBP3

Each year the National Federation of State Poetry Societies sponsors the BlackBerry Peach Poetry Prizes (BBP3), a contest developed to honor the trend toward poetry as a spoken, performance art. This art takes many forms, from open mic events in coffee houses and other venues, to competitive poetry slams. The BBP3 contest awards significant cash prizes to the winners ($1,000 for first place) and publishes the winning poets in this book, in audio form on soundcloud.com and in a video on YouTube.com. The 2022 winners include Wesley Frazier-Keyes. Raymond Jimenez, Jessica Temple, Kashvi Ramani, Sue Fagalde Lick, and Kevin W. Campbell.

BlackBerry Peach Poetry Prizes is an annual competition sponsored by the National Federation of State Poetry Societies (NFSPS) that celebrates written poetry also performed on stage. Spoken Word poetry has led to a revival in the popularity of poetry over the past several decades. Slam poetry competitions are held around the world, and hip-hop/rap is another popular form of the genre. The 2021 winners include four-time slam world champion Ed Mabrey and multi-award winning poet Jennifer Hambrick. Other well-known poets on this year's winners list include Julie Shavin, Susann Moeller, and Paula J. Lambert. Also known as BBP3, the competition offers significant cash prizes to the winners. This book is a compilation of the winners' poems in the BlackBerry Peach Poetry Prizes contest for 2020, a major national competition for written and spoken word poetry. The judged contest is sponsored annually by the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and features a top prize of $1000. Prizes go to the top three finishers. The National Federation of State Poetry Societies (NFSPS) hosts the BlackBerry Peach Poetry Prizes each year with a top prize of $1,000. In a unique format, the poets are judged on both their written poems and their spoken word performances. The 2018 first place winner is Rosemerry Trommer of Colorado, followed by Susan Chambers from Minnesota in second, and Ryan Jones of Georgia in third place. Betty Bleen of Ohio was honorable mention.
