GOD’S DREAM CATCHER
Eva Nolan

I met you there on the mountain top,
The light revealed the Sacred bond,
It circled round the moonlit peaks,
Weaving the cord in a silver circle
Twinned with gold to bind the Light,
and Love, and ripples of Laughter,
Bound as a Dream in the Mind of Go.

CHILLS OF WINTER
Wesley D. Willis

Those walks I take so late at night,
The coolness of a winter's bite,
To whom the forest whispers loud,
My view of winter's waltzing sight.

Glistening crystals glaze the cloud
With clattered dancing sleet proud,
And swirling snow's celestial tease,
Sounds of winter's chime endowed.

Blowing winds, and frigid freeze,
Warmth gone with winter squeeze.
The wooded path to home I see,
With biting frost grips seize.

Release the hold and set me free,
Inside the warmth of home to be,
The winter yearns—and calling me--
Winds of winter sigh with glee.

ANTICIPATION
Flori Ignoffo

The strings of my soul
had yet to be strummed,
the music of my heart
had yet to be sung,
then you asked me to dance.

POETIC TRIBULATIONS
Frieda Risvold

Professing to be of Poetic Ideals,
I search for a subject that appeals.
Within my head there turn wheels
that spin the theme my heart feels.

What do I do if my mind’s blank,
which it often is to be quite frank?
The wheel still, I’d lost the crank.
With heart empty, my hope sank.

Into depths of gloom it’s mired.
The spark of fancy has misfired.
I want so much to be inspired,
but darn it all, I’m just too tired.

SPRING RENEWAL
Eva Nolen

Out of the North a fierce wind blew,
Shifting the light and warmth that grew
With sunny days, and had melted snow.
Walls of snowflakes began to blow.
Back with darkened freeze they came;
Filled with drifts the streets became.

But morning came with a greater light
And melted frost that had come at night.
The world rejoiced as all around
Thaw had come to the frozen ground.
It's time for spring, the robin said
As the wild geese flew overhead.

Beneath the snow, the green grass grew.
The creatures stirred, and knew it, too.
The Forces of Life could not resist
The Season's change, as they insist
With beams of light. So have no fear.
Rebirth for all is very near.

GHOST?
Frieda Risvold

No shadows fall around you;
not in front, nor back.
Still I feel your presence,
fathoming for voice.
Reflect your image on my mind
that I may see your thoughts.
Then echoing your sound,
I’ll pass the word along.

CIRCLE OF LIGHT
Wanda Sue Parrott

Greetings:
Come meet me on the Mountaintop of  Mind.
There, bathed in silver moonlight, golden sun,
Renew our mystic friendship. There, we'll bind
Anew our loving Circle, be as ONE
In Love, in Light, in Life and Laughter, too.
These are the Golden Threads I'd weave with you.

UNFINISHED SONNET
Charlotte Manning Knesek

Your sparkling "Greetings" do awaken Mind.
And as I search for words, to it respond:
I feel your teacher's urge and heart are kind,
So, beg my muse to wave her magic wand.
Alas, she can't receive my small request.
Talent lacking, I'll just do my best

WAR ANYONE?
Bonnie Woodall

The media warn us day by day
a programmed war is on the way.
This war—an event like no other--
will leave no place for duck and cover.

No ambush, raid, or sneak attack.
Fair warning is given to all in Iraq!
The war is a performance full of drama,
but who is the villain? Where is Osama?

Right is right, and might will win.
The war is for peace. Is that a sin?
People shout, "Has the war started?"
Goodbye--to all who have departed.

ODE TO ONE
Ida Fasel
Meeting the Muse

A spring tornado roared through our town
and left it in shambles.
Our hammers and saws made almost
as much noise.  Our spirit made
joyful noise.

We never worked so hard in our life,
yet never felt so deeply alive.

I thought, This is the way
our fighting land sea and air forces,
in honor and generosity,
join to clear the way
to a new world out of a past
of cruelty, repression, and fear.

May the old values, our legacy
of 2,000 years, no longer be
assaulted by the flashy modern .
May peace become a reality
of living experience everywhere.
May the liberated countries
sit at restored tables with us.
May we all celebrate Thanksgiving
early this year.

DAWN
Dorothy Pinkett

The rose and golden hues
mixed with blue;
The first cry of the baby
to signal its awareness of life;
The budding of nature
in springtime--
The awareness of the TRUE
nature of MAN.

MISS MATTIE
Barbara Sampson

Miss Mattie was a prim, solemn, woman,
not really country-quiet, waiting to let
the men-folks lead the conversation.
She taught school for several years,
I guess that’s what made her different.
Mainly, she didn’t smile very often,
like smiles are kept for rare people
and events. Another thing different:
Miss Mattie wrote poetry. It was pious
And sweet but very somber and laughless.
It was what anyone would have expected,
and then suddenly, right out of nowhere
a word, a phrase, a line would leap
out of the prim and prissy page,
would chase off with long, bare legs
a seductive laugh floating upon the air
like some strange hoyden impersonating
       Miss Mattie
to follow a piper’s luring call.
